WHEN: Thursday, March 4, 2010, 3:00-5:00 p.m. WHERE: Baltimore Convention Center, Room 350, Baltimore, MD
Advocates for EMS: EMS Policy Summit AEMS Board Member Jason Zigmont, MA, NREMT-P; AEMS President Kurt Krumperman How do policies formed in Washington affect the everyday EMS provider? Join us to learn how first responder grant funding, Medicare reimbursement rates, healthcare reform, EMS workforce issues and grant funds at the Department of Health and Human Services -- among many other policy issues -- affect EMS providers throughout the country. Every provider has a unique story to tell their member of Congress and can make a positive impact on the decisions made by lawmakers. Come learn about the process and how you can make a difference and interact with decision makers in Washington. The session will include roundtable discussions with federal agencies and a federal legislative update. Previous EMS Summits have lead to both policy and law changes, so your voice does count! Session will be followed by a reception from 5:00-6:00 p.m. in the Camden Lobby right outside Room 350.
