 Instructor/Program Coordinator in Emergency Medical Services – Tenure Track Faculty Position
Illinois Valley Community College, located in North Central Illinois, has a long history of stability that has brought together the people and systems needed to service students exceptionally well. In order to continue this legacy of excellence, we seek a dedicated team player who is driven to create an environment conducive to student learning.
The EMS Instructor and Program Coordinator teaches and assesses student-learning outcomes in Paramedic, Emergency Medical Technology, Disaster Preparedness and various emergency certification courses and coordinates program activities including collaboration with the EMS community. The EMS Instructor is responsible for ongoing curriculum evaluation and improvement within the context of IVCC’s general education philosophy. This position is full-time on a nine-month schedule and tenure track.
Requirements include National certification and State of Illinois licensed Paramedic; Bachelor of Science degree in a related field or degree completion within two years of hire; at least 3 years of paramedic experience; and eligibility for instructor credentials for various emergency certifications (ITLS, ALS, PALS, PEPP). Teaching experience and working knowledge of fire service/science preferred.
