EMSECS National Certification Exam

NAEMSE Heroes Award


NAEMSE is happy to once again present the Heroes Awards at the 2009 Symposium.  Please take a moment to nominate a person who has truly dedicated themselves to excellence in EMS education.  This year, three awards will be presented:

Unsung Heroes Award:  This is presented to an individual who has influenced and enhanced the lives of EMS students, as well as continually striving for excellence in education.

Fallen Heroes:This award is presented to an individual who, though no longer with us, left a legacy of greatness in the EMS community.  The committee hopes to eventually recognize, annually, one person from each state.

Mentoring Hero Award: This is presented to an individual who is a well established educator, someone who has been an influential mentor to others in the EMS education community.

James O. Page Symposium Scholarship

To honor the legacy of one of our profession's most influential, progressive, and extraordinary leaders, the National Association of EMS Educators sponsors the James O. Page Memorial Symposium Scholarship.  This scholarship provides financial support for one EMS educator who would otherwise not be able to attend the NAEMSE annual symposium.  

The Jim Page Memorial Symposium Scholarship provides:

  • Award for travel arranged through NAEMSE (up to $350)
  • NAEMSE symposium registration (this does NOT include pre or post conference registration)
  • Three nights accommodation at the designated symposium hotel

Education Coordinator


The National EMS Academy, a division of Acadian Ambulance Service, has an immediate opening for a full-time Education Coordinator at our Lafayette, LA campus. This position is responsible for EMT/Paramedic and refresher/continuing education, to include curricula development and lesson planning, course delivery locally or via distance learning network, evaluating effectiveness of lesson content and delivery systems, and providing assistance to other faculty members with lesson delivery, skills instruction or student evaluation.

Qualified candidates will possess National Registry Paramedic certification, at least 5 years clinical experience, and an associate degree or higher is preferred.  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to prioritize and organize to meet multiple concurrent deadlines.  The position requires the incumbent to maintain instructor certifications from the Louisiana Bureau of EMS and American Heart Association (BLS & ACLS).
