National EMS Education Standards Finalized

NAEMSE and NHTSA's Office of EMS are pleased to announce that the final National EMS Education Standards have been posted on www.EMS.gov. Also posted are the corresponding Instructional Guidelines for:

--Emergency Medical Responder (EMR),

--Emergency Medical Technician (EMT),

--Advanced EMT (AEMT), and

--Paramedic.

This program is for hospitals and regions ready for the next steps of enhancing first medical contact to reperfusion goals. Individual leaders and multidisciplinary teams (physicians and nurses practicing acute cardiac care, EMS directors and personnel, emergency physicians, technologists, administrators and quality improvement professionals) from across the country will be coming together to participate in rich discussion and take lessons learned back to implement system changes in their respective regions.
