NAEMSE Committees

What is a Committee?
A group of members brought together to handle specific tasks and carry out the benchmarks and goals as directed by NAEMSE and the Board of Directors.

STANDING COMMITTEES
A permanent group performing continual goals. These Committees are a part of NAEMSE's bylaws.

BYLAWS
A rule adopted by an organization chiefly for the government of its members and the regulation of its affairs. This Committee is tasked with reviewing current bylaws of NAEMSE and make recommendations for improvement.

Education
Responsible for the development of educational products to be included as a "member-only" feature of the NAEMSE home page; contribute to educational articles for Domain3.

ENDORSEMENT
Responsible for reviewing products and/or services that have been submitted to NAEMSE for the association's endorsement. Based on developed, approved, and equally applied criteria, this new committee will recommend to the Board whether the product and/or service should receive the Endorsement of NAEMSE. The Board then makes the final decision based upon the recommendation of the committee.

Finance
The Finance Committee will supervise the contractual arrangements of the Association and other business matters. The finance committee shall propose the annual budget for the Association and revisions to the dues schedule

Membership
Responsible for assisting in membership recruitment, renewals, evaluation of institutional membership opportunities, marketing campaigns, membership survey, and representing Association at various EMS conferences.

Nominating
Prepares a slate of candidates for Officers and Directors of the Association to be presented for the annual election of the Association, develops marketing materials to include on the web site, magazine, and newsletter to encourage leadership opportunities within the Association. The committee is currently accepting nominations for 2005-2006 vacancies on the Board of Directors.

Program
A plan or system under which action may be taken toward the development of a goal. This Committee is tasked with developing the Association's annual Symposium, including selection of faculty presentations and Great Ideas/Teachers Toolbox.

Publications
Yearly calendar of topics for Domain 3, development of topics for EMS trade journals, textbook development,
employment opportunities

Research
Symposium topic areas, longitudinal studies for the evaluation of students, grant opportunities.

Standards & Practices
Responsible for coordinating and implementing the developmental efforts of the Association and for structuring Activities to fulfill the mission of the Association. Shall be responsible for suggesting standards regarding out of hospital educational methods. These standards may be published as consensus documents or position papers after approval by the Board of Directors of NAEMSE.

Ad-Hoc committee that advocates the exploration and development of EMS curricula and teaching methods that allow instructors, students, and content to be located in different, non-centralized sites.

Legislative
Ad-Hoc committee designed to gather and provide information to Association members regarding state and federal legislative issues.

PRE-EMS

To provide a national platform, leadership and environment where professional EMS educators and Pre-EMS educators from a variety of agencies and organizations can come together to share insight and information in the interest of improving the care delivered to patients of Pre-EMS and EMS responders. To create national interest to provide research and education for the field of Pre-EMS.

 

RURAL EMS

Assisting with improving health by focusing on EMS issues that face rural, non industrialized communities..
